This Is the ‘Quickest Cadillac Ever.’ Does That Matter?

That's a Wrap | #2020NOGeneva #Virtual

Traditionally Andoniscars names the Best cars of the NOshow |
  1. #RenaultMorphoz  | (From day one) The best overall concept by far. Light-years ahead creative design and incroyable advanced cutting edge tech in a future crawler. Renault is traditionally strong in concepts, this is the only concept that actually is showing something futuristic. Merci!
  2. #HyundaiProphecy  | Previews new generation design and for the first time ever in Hyundai's history we are using the word 'passion' on the same page. Not quite Genesis, but they may be on to something.
  3. #PolestarPrecept  | Not so well presented timeless design as the Polestar1, but has potential. Still much better than the awfully boring Polestar2, from the top it even looks beautiful. It looks ironic, but the brands biggest problem right now is called Polestar1.
  4. #McLaren765LT  | The answer to the question on all our lips "Can the 720s be better?"
  5. #BentleyBacalar  | Important statement from the brand with rich heritage. Huge possibilities ahead. The color yellow might also be a sign to things to come.
  6. #HispanoSuizaCarmen | Tries to bring an enigmatic shape and brand to the level of art.
  7. #BMWi4Concept  | The "must have - play safe concept". Its design is already dated, but BMW is just not about beautiful cars anymore. They lost something quite a awhile ago, the back lights look modern though. The colors on the car are selling the whole concept. The old saying fits well the (front) design - so ugly it is almost beautiful. Now imagine it in black. See? The design is dead. But hey, they showed their new(ish) logo.
  8. #DSAeroSportLounge | Are those fangs on the front of the recent DS cars so necessary? They just kill the idea of a super stylish luxury accessory theme. Sometimes less means more. The concept brings back the older Citroen Hypnos and Sportlounge concepts. Which is not a bad thing. What the bad thing is, that the Metisse has been abandoned. And the DS5. Wait a sec,  isn't that the Sportlounge? Exactly.
Good luck for the others, better luck next time. The Koenigsegg and the Bugatti were so boring like that recent VW Golf GT whatever. The thing about Bugatti is why even bother with special versions of one of the .... designs in the brand's history. Even the Veyron looked better. This mid-engine theme is clearly just not for them. Sure they are fast, but how do they look... The same design cues look just like a timid imitation of the obvious (natural) Bugatti proportions, which again are amazing on their never-born long-hood versions.

Mercedes-Benz Design Essentials II - Highlights

The aesthetic of modern luxury is characterised by timeless beauty, a combination of high-grade technology and craftsmanship as well as a reduction to what is really important. The aim is to spark a desire for the brand. The atmosphere created by the design conveys a reduced, but not distant appearance that is modern and timeless. Black and silver are the dominant colours that create a stage for highlights, but also stage innovations to be complemented by a warm colour range. Natural materials, such as leather and wood give a feeling of being approachable and can be harmoniously combined with technical and innovative highlights. Modern graphic elements that quote the typical Mercedes style idioms or pick up on the brand make the brand identity stronger. Exterior design: sporty, dynamic, emotional Characteristic exterior design elements of Mercedes-Benz vehicles include the striking radiator grilles, dynamic side lines and sensually traversing surfaces that largely do away ...
