(Munich, 2nd March 2020): Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled the ultimate expression of the world’s first luxury pure-electric hyper GT, the Battista Anniversario. The Battista Anniversario celebrates 90 years since Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina created the legendary Pininfarina coachbuilder and design house, and is the most powerful sports car ever to be designed and built in Italy. Battista Anniversario cars will be hand-crafted in Cambiano, Turin, where Pininfarina has established its design centre and headquarters. Automobili Pininfarina has made a fast start into 2020, the 90th anniversary year of Pininfarina SpA, commencing the testing and development phase for the ground-breaking Battista – the world’s first fully electric luxury hypercar. The Battista’s technical development schedule is headed by Automobili Pininfarina Sportscar Director Rene Wollmann, formerly of Mercedes-AMG. In the driving seat of Battista prototype vehicles will be former Formula One and Formula E legend Nick Heidfeld, now a Development Driver and Ambassador for the Italian luxury car marque. SSC Tuatara Hypercar Earns World’s “Fastest Production Vehicle” Title Tuatara Breaks World Records, as Racer, Oliver Webb Achieves 331MPH SSC North America, America’s first hypercar company, has reclaimed the coveted title of world’s “Fastest Production Vehicle,” this time with its 1,750hp Tuatara. With internationally acclaimed professional racing driver, Oliver Webb, at the Tuatara’s wheel, the record-breaking drive took place on the morning of Saturday, October 10, outside of Las Vegas near Pahrump, Nevada along a seven-mile stretch of State Route 160. Webb pushed the SSC Tuatara to an average speed of 316.11 mph (508.73 km/h) following two consecutive high-speed test runs of 301.07 mph (484.53 km/h) and 331.15 mph (532.93 km/h).
