Maserati History - Quattroporte

Quattroporte I (1963)With a top speed of 230 km/h, it was the fastest 4-door sedan of the Sixties. The design was by Pietro Frua and the car had a modern sheet metal monocoque structure instead of a tubular frame.
Anthony Quinn, Stewart Granger, Marcello Mastroianni, Alberto Sordi and Rainier III of Monaco were among Quattro Porte owners. Peter Ustinov bought two of them.

Quattroporte II (1973)
Designed by Bertone, Quattroporte II was a very comfortable car, well equipped and offered an excellent driving experience. Only 13 units were finished during its three years of production and they were all sold to the Middle East.

Quattroporte III (1979)
Built under the direction of Alejandro de Tomaso, Quattroporte III was designed by Giugiaro: when the car went on sale in 1979, it was an instant commercial success.

Quattroporte IV (1994)
Presented at the Turin motorshow in April 1994, the Quattroporte IV was a very compact car but its performances were at true granturismo level: a top speed of 260kmh and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds.

Quattroporte V (2003)
The Maserati Quattroporte V stands out from the crowd. Pininfarina’s creation is the ideal synthesis of luxury and sportiness. It is a car that excels in terms of technology and craftsmanship.
The Maserati Quattroporte is the only large luxury saloon that guarantees both elevated on-board comfort levels and thrills with its authentic granturismo performance.
