2011 Wittera Chevrolet Corvette C5 Wide Body

The WITTERA Corvette C5 Coupe and Cabrio
• Body parts made from either carbon fibre or reinforced glass fibre
• 9 x 19 and 13 x 20 Inch wheels as maximum
• Made-to-measure spacers for flush-fitting wheels
• Lots of extras and optional parts
• Highest build quality through longstanding experiences
• Manufactured in Germany
The German company of WITTERA offers a complete programme for the Corvette C5 model. Basically the house is known as a registered car maker for sophisticated interpretations of classic cars under the label Retro-Ma.de (which is also the website of the firm). Thanks to their know-how and long-standing experiences the Ludwigsfelde-based specialists can offer a wide and flexible range of high quality components for the iconic American sports car. That is also one amongst the reasons why WITTERA conversions not only push German license plates through the wind.

Also customers from other countries appreciate the wide and flexible programme and WITTERA's excellent workmanship. The wide body kit, for example, can be made from carbon fibre. Or, optionally, from glas fibre reinforced plastic, at a lower price. Also in this case the Germans pay greatest attention to the quality. For this reason the parts are tempered in their form - a process which is as time consuming as it is decisive to achieve the resistance and durability WITTERA components are known for.

Besides the parts of the standard body kit, various variants and extras are offered. The Base package consists of inner and outer front fenders, door panels, front bumper, rocker panels and a complete rear end. Regrading the front bumper there are two options: While a deeper one especially underlines the muscular appearance of the wide body conversion, the flatter one is designed for those vehicles having a noticeable suspension lowering. Various air scoops, grille meshes and spoilers round off the programme and make sure that there is something to everybody's taste.

When it comes to wheels, range is equally wide. WITTERA offers as many as 20 wheel designs for their Corvette C5 wide body conversion. Maximum size at the front axle is 9 x 19 Inch. At the rear axle, rims which are 4 Inch wider and 1 Inch higher can be used. Meaning, size is 13 x 20! Tyres bear the specifications 255x35 ZR 19 and 345x25 ZR 20 respectively. To achieve best looks, WITTERA also provides made-to-measure spacers.

And last but not least there are individual interior refinements gettable. Any of the modifications meet German laws and regulations, and are TÜV-approved. No matter what is desired, thanks to a high number of options, a WITTERA Corvette conversion is going to be absolutely unique. Not only it will make impression and will give pleasure, due to precisely manufactured components, it's going to do this for a very long time. More information are provided at: www.retro-ma.de

1985 Audi Sport Quattro: The Group B Homologation Special

In Austria in 1980, just a year after four-wheel drive cars became eligible to compete in the WRC, Audi debuted the first Quattro rally car and forever changed the sport. Over the next half of the decade (and onwards, if you count the Pikes Peak specials), these Audis would be subjected to a period of rapid iterative evolution that led to the short-wheelbase Sport Quattro models that helped define the infamously fast and dangerous era of Group B rallying. The relatively lax nature of the Group B regulations gave rise to a number of downright ferocious cars from Audi’s competitors (most notable being Lancia and Peugeot), and while it was not the most successful nor technologically advanced of these top tier cars by the end of the Group B era, the Sport Quattro is a worthy poster child for the lot of them—being first to the punch has its advantages. The advent of the Group B class provided manufacturers with practically every leeway imaginable given they adhered to a basic s...
