911 | Seven-speed manual transmission and a host of new equipment options

Stuttgart. A seven-speed manual transmission can now be ordered for all 911 Carrera S and 4S models as an alternative to the standard eight-speed PDK transmission at no extra cost in European and related markets. The manual transmission is combined with the Sport Chrono package and will therefore appeal above all to sporty drivers who derive more driving pleasure from changing gear themselves. Also as part of the model year changeover, a host of new equipment options will now be offered for the 911 Carrera series that were previously not available for the sports car. These include Porsche InnoDrive, which is already familiar from the Panamera and Cayenne, as well as a new Smartlift function for the front axle. For purists: seven-speed manual transmission with Sport Chrono package The manual transmission with seven gears for the 911 Carrera S and 4S always comes in combination with the Sport Chrono package. Also included is Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with variable drive torqu

Porsche 911 S/T by dp Motorsport

Meticulous, modern, flawless: dp Motorsport shows off a driving interpretation of the famous Porsche 911 S/T with the genes of the Carrera 3.2 Coupé. The fact that the expertise for the Porsche brand is at home at dp Motorsport in Overath-Immekeppel in the german Rhineland region, does not require any specific reference. The company, founded by the legendary design ace Ekkehard Zimmermann (79) is managed by his son Patrick Zimmermann in the second generation with a slightly different focus. The purely competitive racing business is no longer as clearly in the foreground as it was in prehistoric times. Instead, active, holistic conversions have taken up more and more space. This also applies to the latest project from the Sülztal: At a special customer request, a Porsche Carrera 3.2 Coupé, produced back in 1985, was transformed into a statement to the famous 911 S/T, which paved the way for the Porsche icons RS and RSR in the early 1970s. The guiding principle: meticulous, modern a

RUF RODEO Concept Car Inspired By Porsche 911

RUF Automobile GmbH, manufacturer and creator of bespoke sports cars that combine performance and suitability for everyday use, unveiled the RUF Rodeo Concept and the first production RUF SCR at its headquarters in Pfaffenhausen, Germany. The Rodeo Concept was inspired by the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance and its founder – and friend of RUF – Bruce Meyer, as well as by Ralph Lauren and his 2011 Western Collection and RUF enthusiast and collector Phillip Sarofim who has roots in Texas. The car features the same carbon fibre monocoque chassis as the CTR Anniversary and the SCR, but with a four-wheel drive system to tackle off-road use, larger all-terrain tires, longer-travel suspension and more. The Rodeo Concept can accommodate either a normally aspirated or turbo-charged RUF flat-six engine. “When we began building our own automobiles it was all for the thrill of the drive,” said Estonia Ruf, marketing director of RUF Automobile GmbH. “The Rodeo Concept combines that passi

The classic 911 - what's the big deal?

The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur shapes up the 911 with two aerodynamic and styling packages.

The latest generation Porsche 911 is now available with a SportDesign package, which provides a revised front apron with a spoiler lip in distinctive design. The rear has also been reconfigured, with a new bumper section that has raised the number plate to incorporate a new air intake and outtake. The SportDesign package can be combined with optionally available SportDesign side skirts, which have the optical effect of lowering the car still closer to the road. Also available as a further option is the new Aerokit, which is offered on all Coupé versions of the 992 series. Based on the SportDesign package the Aerokit comes with a range of aerodynamic enhancements: a distinctive front spoiler, a fixed rear spoiler and fixed rear wing, reminding you of Porsche’s GT vehicles. A combination with the SportDesign side skirts enhances the ground hugging stance and further underlines the 911’s racing DNA. The new Aerokit has been engineered at Porsche’s development centre in Weissach
