BMW-Chef Norbert Reithofer hat im Gespräch mit auto motor und sport den Bau eines neuen SUV angekündigt. Nach dem Erfolg des X6 werde es oberhalb des X3 ein weiteres Modell geben. "Ja, wir werden über dem X3 einen BMW X4 positionieren", sagte Reithofer. Der neue SUV wird rund 4,65 Meter lang werden und die Motorenpalette des X3 übernehmen (184 bis 306 PS). Ausgestattet wird der BMW X4 mit Allradantrieb, Start-Stopp-Automatik, Head-up-Display und Sprachsteuerung. Da der BMW X4 aber deutlich coupéartiger wird als der X3, fällt der Kofferraum mit einem Volumen von rund 500 Litern deutlich kleiner aus als beim kleinen Bruder.  quelle: AMS
