Alfa SUVs

We all know Alfa is getting its own SUVs. But how many?

Ever since the Kamal there is an Alfa Romeo SUV in the air. Insiders claim that there are two parallel projects going on at Cuore Sportivo; reportedly developing two SUVs, a C-SUV codenamed ‘Project 921′ and a bigger D-SUV codenamed ‘Project 931′. This two SUVs would be launched by the end of 2011.

The C-SUV, a crossover based on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta coupe would be be called the CXover. Though the base versions would come only with front wheel drive, Alfa Romeo could also offer its Q4 all wheel drive system to the CXover. The CXover would compete with the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mazda CX-5 and Mercedes GLK. Sources further mention that one of the SUVs will be 4,5m long, and 1,8m wide.
The D-SUV would be a bigger SUV and would derive its roots from the Jeep Liberty thanks to parent Fiat’s partnership with the Chrysler. The D-SUV would be called the DXover and would be bigger and meaner than the CXover. Both the SUVs would get the 115 hp 1.6 liter, 140 hp 1.8 liter or the turbocharged direct injection 1.8 liter producing 200 hp.
