Reports from the Italian media that a Lamborghini SUV will be unveiled at the Beijing motor show in March are "speculation", according to a company spokesman.
Italian magazine Quattroruote says the car, which is being billed as a spiritual successor to the LM002, will be based on the next generation Porsche Cayenne platform and feature styling influenced by the Aventador. According to the report, it would be powered by a detuned V10 sourced from the Gallardo, while a hybrid model is also possible.
When contacted by Autocar a Lamborghini spokesman said that the story was "speculation".
Asked about a possible launch of the third model line in Beijing, the spokesman said: "There is a lot of speculation about what it will be. As there are no plans to build the Estoque saloon, people are speculating that there will be an SUV - but nothing is confirmed."
