BMW Z1 (E30)
It was officially presented at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show. looked like it came from the future. And it did. Its name actually means Future. (Z comes from Zukunft). The development of the Z1 is attributed to Dr. Ulrich Bez. Designed by Harm Lagaay the Z1 was BMWs attempt to foresee the future in terms of roadster. The drop down doors into the door sills styling cue made the E30 based roadster look very unique. This feature has not been seen on any car ever since. Only 8000 units were made between March 1989 and June 1991 .
