Italdesign Giugiaro at Pitti Uomo with Lanificio F.lli Cerruti

The collaboration between Italdesign Giugiaro and Lanificio F.lli Cerruti, born in occasion of the International Motor Show in Geneva, will be propose again during this edition of Pitti Uomo 2013. In the charming Sala Ottagonale at Fortezza da Basso, for the first time in the history of Pitti, a research prototype will be on display: it is Parcour, here in the Roadster version, elected this year as "Best Concept" of Geneva Motor Show by the american magazine AutoWeek. The interiors have been created with precious merino wool fabric from Lanificio Cerruti, called Turbo 180.
The same textile is used for "Car Jacket", the jacket from the Natural Born Elegance line by Julian Cerruti, designed to celebrate the union between these two historical names reflecting Italian excellence. The "Car Jacket" is part of a limited edition of 550 specimens (the same number as the horsepower of the V10 Lamborghini engine mounted on the Parcour) and is an evolution of the "sweater jacket" from the FW 13-14 Natural Born Elegance collection. This leisure jacket/car- digan is now being developed in two models: one with knit sleeves with a more casual look and one with fabric sleeves for a more polished look. Both models ensure extreme comfort and practicality to make you feel totally at ease, once seated behind the wheel. Even the pockets are designed for ease of movement while you are in the car, thanks to the vertical cut in the upper part of the jacket.

The "Car Jacket" is made of four different fabrics: in addition to Turbo 180, there are also the Via Col Vento, Prestige 150 and IParty versions. They are all fine wool variations, typical of male attire, but handled and processed in such a way as to create pieces with high technical qualities. Just like Giugiaro Parcour, the "Car Jacket", made with the finest and most precious raw materials, is a high performance and incredibly functional piece. The jacket is available in black and white: on the outside these two colors overlap to create a series of contrasts due to seams and cuts that reflect the style of Parcour, like a model car seen from above. The only splash of color is reserved for the inner lining, where the famous red Giugiaro logo appears.

Finally, something new is represented in the collection by the introduction of a female version of the Car Jacket in the Elegance Natural Born collection: the model is the classic leather jacket but this time reinterpreted with masculine fabrics. It too is created in black or white but the two colors alternate between the inside and the outside of the jacket.

In occasion of the collaboration between Lanificio Cerruti and Giugiaro, The Woolmark Company joins as a main project partner, providing endorsement of the high quality of wool used in the interior of the car and Natural Born Elegance pieces, thus underlining the excellence and the versatility of this wonderful fiber. Merino wool is perfectly in line with what consumers want in terms of luxury and performance because it is able to offer incredible benefits as well as ensure comfort and style, as shown by its many applications in the fashion industry. design and even in the automotive area. A versatility that is the real added value of Australian Merino wool, a 100% natural fiber of great potential.
