Simon Cox At Infiniti



SIMON COX APPOINTED DESIGN DIRECTOR OF INFINITY (NEWS) - Infiniti has appointed Simon Cox Design Director, Infiniti Design London studio. In this role, Cox will be based in the new bespoke Infiniti design studio in London, which is planned to open in October.
 "This is a key appointment for Infiniti as we continue to define Infiniti’s design evolution” said Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura. “We have made the strategic decision to establish dedicated design studios for Infiniti in order to sharpen the Infiniti brand further. The London Paddington studio is the first example, and other global studios in San Diego (United States) and Beijing (China) will follow suit. Simon Cox as the Design Director for the London studio will play a key role in the evolution of Infiniti design.”

Cox will report to Infiniti Executive Design Director, Alfonso Albaisa.
“Simon brings an enormous wealth of passion and experience to our design team in London. His arrival will enable us to further develop our unique design language,” said Albaisa.

Cox has over 30 years’ experience in the automotive industry. During this time, he has been actively involved in the design of a number of award-winning concept and production vehicles.
"Taking on the role of Design Director, Infiniti Design London is an exciting challenge,” Simon said. “The new Infiniti design studio in London is a great opportunity to develop the Infiniti brand and products from a European perspective.”

After studying Fine Art, Jewelry design, product design and automotive design at the Royal College of Art in London, Cox decided to combine his creative education with one of his other passions – sports cars – after a visit to the 1977 Geneva Motor Show.

Cox joins Infiniti after an automotive design career with companies such as Peugeot, Ford Motor Company, Lotus Engineering, Isuzu Motors, and General Motors.
