Corvette, Reimagined in Italian: The Curious Case of the Moray

F-rodisiac

1984. That was the year of the 288 GTO. Its muscular design  made it obvious that it was the fastest street-legal Ferrari at the time. Right after the BB (boxer berlinetta). Just ahead...

It took three more years till the world received the real supercar from Ferrari, the 40th anniversary celebration gift, the legendary F40. It was Ferrari's answer to the Porsche 959
The F40 was followed by the F50, the predecessor of the Enzo. History lesson is over.
Now, in 2010, just before the launch of the Lamborghini Aventador, it is just right to wonder what Ferrari has in its sleeves for the F70.

For starters Ferrari Chairman, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, has hinted that it could sport a hybrid with technology borrowed from the marque’s 599 HY-KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show. The F70′s engine will be a V8 which will or will not feature a twin turbo. The V8 engine is expected to put out over 660 prancing horses to propel the latest Ferrari to stunning speeds. The weight will be around 1000kg, at least this is what the Millechilli concept hints at. Until presented to the public we have to deal with the illustrations that search the design of the next benchmark in supercar terms.
